BeLite Foods Story

I am really not a baker, but in the beginning of the pandemic, I started to bake my “healthy” muffins for my patients, friends and family, as way to keep a sense of connection, community and support. The muffins turned out to be a hit with both adults and kids, and I couldn’t keep up. So, I decided to create easy-to-make muffins mixes, and BeLite™ baking mix was born.

Although a few years ago, my original motivation was to make gluten-free baked goods for my stepdaughter, who was diagnosed with celiac disease and was unable to tolerate gluten. Later, I came to understand that I could help myself with menopausal symptoms, eating in similar way; but ultimately, I wanted the pleasure of eating healthy, high protein, low carb baked treats. After creating BeLite™ baking mixes, I noticed they were also helping my patients achieve healthy blood sugar levels and potential weight loss.

I immigrated from Brazil over 30 years ago and have loved living in the United States; though my deep cultural roots, growing up on a farm in rural Brazil, are a part of who I am, how I cook and my recent love for baking. My passion has always been to help people, especially helping people feel better to experience their best life. I guess that’s why I am always looking to new, enlightened ways to prepare healthy, delicious, satisfying food.

As you can see, BeLite Foods™ story has a personal and a professional side. I have been in health care for over 30 years, first as an intensive care registered nurse, then in the last 20 years, as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a Clinical Nutritionist (with focus on Functional Nutrition). I feel very excited to offer my patients, family, and friends something that contributes to their health and wellbeing.
